In Manchester we travelled up early which allowed us the opportunity to explore the beautiful streets filled up of shop upon shop where I ended up spending far too many pennies! We popped into the Cornerhouse gallery, which also sold the most amazing orange and chocolate muffins, yummmm. It opened its doors the specular colourful work of the artist Samantha Donnelly.
Made up of bright flashes of colour, fashion imagery and even fake nails it certainly didn’t disappoint, the layout was perfect allowing each piece to stand at its own. The scale of her work is actually amazing, so sculptural and beautiful and made up of so many different weird and wonderful textures.
We then headed over to the Manchester art gallery, which is a beautiful building on such a grand space with never ending corridors situated over three whole floors. Within there they were holding their under that cloud exhibition. An open place space room filled up of all different textures and colours and hidden meanings within the different pieces under one roof.
