TATE MODERN

On our first night in London we went to the Tate Modern, we spent pretty much the whole of the evening exploring there as it was so HUGE. Filled up with beautiful paintings and sculptures, and a balcony overlooking the river to, it was the perfect spot to see the sun set!

My favourite piece there was the Sabra and Shatila Massacre, 1982-83, by the Iraqi artist Dia Azzawi. Here’s a brief article about the piece of work and what he was inspired by when creating the piece.

Sadly we weren’t able to take photos of the Damien Hirst exhibition, but it was the best thing that I’ve ever saw. Unfortnaly the skull wasn’t there no more and had being returned to its owner, but my favourite was the butterfly room and the inside of the cow!

LONDON

Back to reality and back to Stockton after spending the best four days in London, there we adventured and explored Camden Market, Oxford Street, The Tate Modern, London Zoo & spent some quality time with Gaga within metres of each other in the Monster Pit!

LEEDS FESTIVAL

I spent my normal lazy day Sunday at Leeds Festival, were I was lucky enough to see Florence and the machine for the 8th time! The background set was beautiful as ever, with an art deco theme going on, very different compared to when she was starting out when the stage was covered in fake flowers along with bird cages!
Now it’s back to working again today, drawing more images of lion fish before moving onto jelly fish. I'll post images soon!

LION FISH

Finally started drawing today for my mini summer brief, and look, a little lion fish!
I am going to be focusing my theme on sea creatures after an adventure day at the sea life centre which influenced me in making my decision. Already know what I want to make, i've got so many ideas to develop.
