BOWES MUSEUM

Just a few photos from Bowes Museum. The fashion and textiles room was deffinly my favourite!

ROBERT SWAN

Yesterday we braved the rain and adventured up to the beautiful Bowes Museum, to listen to a very special inspirational talk by Robert Swan. Who is the first ever person in the whole of history to walk to both the North and South poles. He now dedicates his whole life to the preservation of Antarctica by the promotion of recycling and renewable energy. Within the talk he explained his story, from being a young boy with a dream then turning it into a reality, and making it happen and proved that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

ADVENTURES

Yesterday I had a gam packed whale of a time day spent in Sunderland and Newcastle, and made plenty of stop offs at the Sunderland Museum and winter gardens, The National glass centre, The Baltic and the Biscuit Factory!

Along the way I saw plenty of different exhibitions, including the   Sunderland Book Project exhibition, which was filled up of plenty of colour, text and textured papers all into little handmade books which were beautifully put together.

The Sunderland museum is the best place ever, you can’t go wrong with giant fish, animals, dinosaurs and a Jurassic park inspired giant garden dome as well as a bit of paper art!

The highlight of the glass centre was seeing the university of Sunderland BA(hons) glass and ceramics show. The layout and space of the work was amazing!

 ALICE THATCHER

We ended our day in the Biscuit Factory where I was able to find lots of inspirational artists, and treat myself to the cutest house brooch from Amos Denton Designs!

HAPPY DAY!
